School: Edison

Out of the blocks: The transfer from Bullard scored 16.5 of the Tigers' 47.50 points at the Central Section Masters Championships by placing second in the 200-meter dash (wind-aided 21.83), third in the 100 (10.79) and anchoring a winning 400 relay (41.96) as the Tigers finished second to Buchanan for the team title. The 400 relay team then finished sixth at the CIF State Championships.

Intradistrict gift: "We're blessed he came to Edison. He also plays football, which is going to help his endurance and strength. I'll be back coaching football (in the fall), so I'll watch to make sure he doesn't get beat up too bad. He played a big impact for us and I really look forward to big things from him. He has 10.5 potential (in the 100)." — Tigers coach Danny Alberty.
