Bullard High grad earns full-ride to Long Beach State

Bullard High School valedictorian Tate Lone was named a President's Scholar and awarded a full, four-year scholarship from California State University, Long Beach on Sunday, university spokeswoman Valerie Bordeaux said.

The President's Scholar Program will cover tuition, student fees, an annual book stipend and paid on-campus housing for four years, she said.

Lone is one of 25 students selected into the university's program. The daughter of Todd and Annette Levi of Fresno, she plans to major in biochemistry.

At Bullard, she finished No. 1 in her graduating class of 750 students while also playing basketball and taking multiple advanced placement courses.
