  4:30 p.m.: A 59-year-old Lemoore man died when his pickup drifted into oncoming Highway 41 traffic and collided head-on with a big rig Friday morning in southern Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol said.

  Phillip Randalls died in the crash about 9:15 a.m., the Fresno County Coroner's Office said.

  Randalls was driving north on Highway 41 near Elkhorn Avenue when his 2004 Chevrolet pickup veered into the southbound lane and collided with the big rig, the CHP said.

  A Parlier man was identified by the Fresno County Coroner as the driver who died early Monday in a two-car collision on Del Rey and South avenues north of Selma.

  The California Highway Patrol said that Antonio Pimentel, 52, was driving a Buick Century southbound on Del Rey and stopped at the rural intersection with South before he drove into the intersection in front of a Ford pickup driven by a 27-year-old unidentified Parlier man. Drivers on South do not have to stop at the intersection.

  The westbound pickup hit the driver's side door of the Buick and both drivers sustained major injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where Pimentel died.

  Lanes and ramps on southbound Highway 99 from just south of Belmont Avenue to just north of Olive Avenue will be closed Saturday for emergency concrete slab repair.

  The southbound Olive Avenue onramp and Belmont Avenue offramp will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Changeable message boards will be used to alert drivers to upcoming lane closures.
