Two suspects in a Manchester Center shooting last week that wounded a woman were arrested Friday in Eureka, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said.

Reginald Taylor, 28, and Abel Price, 21, both of Fresno, were arrested in Humboldt County by law enforcement officers shortly before 8 a.m., he said.

Taylor is believed to be the gunman in the March 13 shooting at Colima's Fade Shop, Dyer said. Price faces a charge of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon. Both are gang members, Dyer said.

Police got an anonymous tip Wednesday that Taylor and Price were in Eureka. The two were staying with an acquaintance who believed they had come to Humboldt County to look for jobs and who was unaware of the barber shop shooting, Dyer said.

On March 13, the men went to the Manchester Center barbershop about 7:30 p.m. with Trenice Williams, 22, who wanted to talk with barber Ronald Moore about custody of a child they have together when a fight broke out, Dyer said.

Taylor left the shop and returned with a gun and fired four shots toward a chair Moore was hiding behind, Dyer said. Moore was not hit. Taylor also fired a shot that struck Rafiola Binger, 46, who had taken her 17-year-old son to the barbershop for a haircut, Dyer said. Binger was hit in the lower back. Her 19-year-old daughter also was in the shop.

Binger was in fair condition Friday at Community Regional Medical Center.

Doctors initially were concerned whether Binger would be able to walk again but now are optimistic that she will, Dyer said.

About half a dozen workers and patrons were inside the barbershop when the shooting happened.

Williams was subsequently arrested. She faces a charge of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon.

Taylor has a criminal record, including serving seven years in prison for shooting and killing a man in Fresno on Christmas Day in 2001 when he was 17, Dyer said.

He faces charges that included attempted murder and four counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He and Price are expected to be returned to Fresno within a few days.
