SOFTBALL

-- Rachel Rodriguez fired her first career seven-inning perfect game, striking out 10 and leading The Bee's Central Section No. 2-ranked Central over No. 5 Bullard 2-0. Rodriguez reached a three-ball count on only four batters and didn't allow a ball out of the infield. Pinch-runner Maryssa Kamimoto scored in the top of the first on a double-steal with Jilee Schanda. Read more at sports.fresnobeehive.com.

-- Savanna Sieger pitched her second no-hitter of the season and Marina Salinas went 4 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs as Kingsburg downed Central Valley Christian 10-0 in the Central Sequoia League.

BASEBALL

-- Buchanan and Clovis roared into Easter Week tournaments with routs to remain atop the Tri-River Athletic Conference with 3-0 records. Junior left-hander Jack Wheeless improved to 5-0 with an 0.96 ERA, Trenton Kemp homered among three hits and drove in four runs, and Colton Worthington had three hits as the 13-0-1 Bears blasted Clovis West 15-1. They'll play in the first Boras Baseball Classic next week in Sacramento. For 10-3 Clovis, McCarthy Tatum delivered three hits, two RBIs and the pitching win, and Jacob Gatewood was a triple shy of the cycle while driving in two runs in a 13-4 win over Central. The Cougars will play in next week's 34-team Fresno Easter Classic.

-- After surrendering three straight hits -- part of the eight straight batters Exeter sent to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning -- reliever Robert Madrigal got a flyout to strand runners and third and first as Immanuel held on for a 9-8 CSL win. Exeter scored six runs in the seventh to rally from a 9-2 deficit.
