Less than a week before competition, nationally-ranked saddle bronc rider Uhuru Adem is without his get-up after his supplies were stolen from his truck on Sunday in Clovis.

Adem, a Fresno State student and reigning saddle bronc West Coast region champion, discovered his custom-made saddle, boots, spurs and chaps missing less than one week before the Fresno State Intercollegiate Rodeo, university spokesman Tom Uribes said.

The rodeo will take place Friday and Saturday at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, with 12 college teams from the region competing. The top three in each category advance to the College National Finals Rodeo in June.

Adem's teammates are hoping to raise funds to replace the saddle by the weekend, but if time runs out, will put the money toward a reward, Uribes said.

Anyone with information should call Fresno State police at (559) 664-3204 or email fresnostate@tipnow.org
