A 51-year-old man is in custody after stabbing two other men after a wild traffic disturbance in central Fresno on Thursday.

Police say Curtis Holton faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The other men were treated for wounds in the upper side. Holton was treated for scrapes and bruises on the head and body inflicted by bystanders after the stabbing began.

The incident began at Home and Blackstone avenues about 2 p.m. Capt. Dennis Bridges said it appeared that Holton accused a 52-year-old man in a pickup of hitting him while Holton was either on or near his bicycle, but the other man denied doing so.

Holton then apparently head-butted the other man and stabbed him.

Holton then pushed his bike west on Home with a group of people following him. Another man, 53, was stabbed along the way and Holton was struck by those following him.

Police detained the man near Pine Avenue and Calaveras Street.
