  I am writing in relation to the General Plan recommendations that will come before the Fresno City Council in relation to River West. I am a horse trainer and appreciate the natural beauty of the Central Valley. I would hate to see the new trail have access limited only to those who live within walking distance. Being able to utilize more horse trails of the parkway would allow my students to enjoy the beauty of the Central Valley while enjoying their horses.

  The proposed General Plan recommendations assume equestrians would have access from Spano Park. This is not realistic because Spano Park only has 16 parking stalls, far too few to park trucks and equestrian trailers. Also, there is a 100-foot difference between the head and toe of the bluff at Spano Park, a sheer drop that makes it unsafe for my students, our horses and even professional riders.

  I hope the city of Fresno sets aside the General Plan recommendations and allows the environmental impact report to do its job of getting public input on
