SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Details are emerging about the National Park Service's ambitious plan to overhaul Yosemite Valley.

The San Jose Mercury News says ( http://bit.ly/WEY6nP) under the proposal horse rentals and bicycle rentals would no longer be allowed in the valley.

The pool would be removed from the iconic Ahwahnee Hotel. And the ice rink at Curry Village would be torn out.

The newspaper says the $235 million "Merced River Plan" has been more than a decade in the making, and delayed by several lawsuits from environmentalists.
