Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the Safe Place program encourages youth to resolve threatening situations on their own. The program educates youth about the risks of trying to do so.

The newest Safe Place site for troubled young people opened Wednesday at the Fresno EOC Health Services and Education Center, 925 N. Abby St.

Safe Place is a national youth outreach program that educates young people about the danger of running away and trying to resolve threatening situations on their own.

There are more than 200 Safe Place locations in the Fresno area. For more information, visit fresnoeoc.org.
