  Many citizens wonder why many "popular" artists haven't made their way to perform at the Save Mart Center, and I have to ask the same question. As I read Michele Contreras' letter, "Wants bigger musical acts" (Feb. 4), I fully agreed with her.

  Many of the acts that come to Fresno are repeated year after year. I find that the performances they hold here don't really appeal to the young adults, but more toward children or older adults.

  Rock, punk, and metal bands hardly ever play at the Save Mart Center and if they do play in Fresno it's at a smaller venue that sells out before many people have a chance to get tickets. I think that the Save Mart Center should accommodate everyone and be open to more diverse music genres and different performers.

  I wholeheartedly agree with Michele Contreras (letter Feb. 3) regarding the entertainment or lack of it at the Save Mart Center. It hosted a lot of big names in the past, such as Madonna, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Rod Stewart, etc. Now good concerts are few and far between. Acts seem to favor San Jose and Sacramento and ignore Fresno altogether. I may be old, but I would still love to see Lady Gaga come to Fresno.

  The Save Mart Center needs to get its act together and bring more entertainers.

  Wants bigger musical acts

  I don't understand. Save Mart Center is so big and when it was built people talked on and on about who would perform here. The same people come every year -- Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban. Boring. How about bringing Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift -- somebody big and hot and fresh. Stop bringing the same people.
