RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Authorities have arrested 10 people for their alleged roles in a drug conspiracy that involved marijuana grow houses across Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says the arrests Wednesday were part of a federal investigation that resulted in search warrants involving 15 grow houses. Of 11 people named in the complaint, 10 were arrested; they were charged with conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and possess marijuana with intent to distribute it.

More than 8,000 marijuana plants, seven guns including an assault rifle, and more than $250,000 in cash were seized.

The 124-page affidavit alleges that 42-year-old Arcadia resident Raymond Lam or "Nam A. Lam" led the trafficking ring.

The 11th person in the complaint, 39-year-old Andy Tran of Monterey Park, is a fugitive.
