HESPERIA, Calif. -- Authorities say they've seized more than 200 casino-style gambling machines from businesses advertising themselves as Internet cafes in San Bernardino County.

A Wednesday Sheriff's Department statement says about 30 detectives and state gaming investigators made the seizures from four cafes in Hesperia on Tuesday. The statement says large amounts of cash earned from gaming profits were also confiscated.

The raids came after a four-month investigation where undercover detectives and other investigators visited the businesses and played on the machines that included electronic slots and video poker.

Several people including the cafe operators were detained and interviewed but released pending further investigation.
