Fresno police officers arrested a 44-year-old parolee who allegedly was driving a stolen car and had a loaded Glock handgun in a holster on his belt.

The suspect was arrested Tuesday near Cedar and Herndon avenues after a short foot chase.

The handgun was stolen in a recent burglary at a home where the family was asleep at the time, police said.

The suspect was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges that included auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, a felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and parole violation.
