"Admission" - A strait-laced Princeton admissions officer visiting an alternative high school run by a former college classmate is caught off guard when she meets a gifted young man who might be the son she gave up for adoption years ago. With Tina Fey, Paul Rudd and Michael Sheen. Written by Karen Croner. Directed by Paul Weitz. (1:50) PG-13.

"Bob's New Suit" - A landscape gardener and handyman proposes to his girlfriend at the same time his cousin comes up with a get-rich-quick scheme whose repercussions could affect his entire family. With Hunter S. Bodine, Jenny Shimizu and Shay Astar. Written and directed by Alan Howard. (1:37) NR.

"Come Out and Play" - While on a romantic getaway in Mexico, a young couple expecting their third child visit a seemingly idyllic island and soon find themselves fighting for their lives. With Vinessa Shaw, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Daniel Gimenez Cacho. Written and directed by Makinov. In Spanish and English, with English subtitles. (1:35) NR.

"The Croods" - In this animated film, a prehistoric family embarks on a journey to find a new home after their cave is destroyed. With the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone and Catherine Keener. Written and directed by Kirk DeMicco and Chris Sanders. In 3-D. (1:32) PG.

"Dorfman in Love" - Desperate for a life of her own, a young, single suburbanite volunteers to cat-sit for her crush in downtown L.A. and expands her horizons. With Sara Rue, Elliott Gould and Kelen Coleman. Written by Wendy Kout. Directed by Bradley Leong. (1:32). PG-13.

"Everybody Has a Plan" - Desperate to leave his old life behind, an Argentine man adopts the identity of his recently deceased brother but is dragged into the criminal underworld. With Viggo Mortensen, Soledad Villamil and Daniel Fanego. Written and directed by Ana Piterbarg. In Spanish with English subtitles. (2:01) R.

"From Up on Poppy Hill" - In the seaside town of Yokohama, with Japan recovering from World War II and preparing to host the 1964 Olympics, two high school kids share a budding romance while trying to save a Meiji-era clubhouse. With the voices of Sarah Bolger, Anton Yelchin and Christina Hendricks. Written by Hayao Miyazaki. Directed by Goro Miyazaki. (1:31) PG.

"The Happy Poet" - An unemployed bohemian in Austin rolls the dice and puts everything he has into an organic, vegetarian-friendly food stand. With Paul Gordon, Jonny Mars and Chris Doubek. Written and directed by Gordon. (1:25) NR.

"Hunky Dory" - In this musical set in 1976 Wales, a spirited high school drama teacher tries to inspire her apathetic students by putting on a glam-rock version of Shakespeare's "The Tempest." With Minnie Driver, Aneurin Barnard and Danielle Branch. Written by Laurence Coriat. Directed by Marc Evans. (1:49) NR.

"The Kill Hole" - A troubled Iraq war veteran living in Portland is coerced by two executives from a private military contractor to track down and kill a Marine sergeant who has gone AWOL in the mountains of Oregon. With Chadwick Boseman, Tory Kittles and Billy Zane. Written and directed by Mischa Webley. (1:32) NR.
