Fresno State's women's basketball team finished up the last of its home practices Tuesday. Next stop: Lubbock, Texas.

The 15th-seeded Bulldogs, headed back to the Women's NCAA Tournament for a sixth straight year, face second-seeded Cal at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.

Fresno State will fly out Thursday. First, it's a day of rest today that also will help the players keep up with their academic studies.

The Bulldogs (24-8) hope to break through to a new level in the ascendancy of their program -- begun under Adrian Wiggins and continued under first-year coach Raegan Pebley -- with a first-ever NCAA Tourney win.

Cal (28-3) also is exploring new territory after its most successful regular season to date, including its first Pac-12 title. But it must avoid looking ahead to a possible Spokane Regional title game against fellow Pac-12 power and top-seeded Stanford.

"When you reflect on what this team has done, and where this program was years and years ago, I think it's pretty neat that we're on that 2-line," second-year Cal coach Lindsay Gottlieb said. "But right now our focus is on Fresno State. I can think about the big picture when it's all said and done."
