Mexican soccer clubs Monarcas de Morelia and Los Dorados de Sinaloa will square off in Fresno this weekend, but the exhibition could feel like a home game for both teams.

Sunday's match -- featuring veteran Mexican national player Cuauhtémoc Blanco -- is expected to fill Chukchansi Park. There were 9,000 tickets sold as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, box office manager Cody Holden said.

"We're expecting a sellout," Holden said. "We're not going to add any seats but we will admit standing room only."

Last July, the park drew 12,500 for an exhibition between Mexican teams Club América and Jaguares de Chiapas.

Fans can watch Blanco and the rest of the players arrive Friday at Fresno Yosemite International airport. Blanco is scheduled to arrive at 7 p.m., the rest of Dorados at 9:40 p.m. and Monarcas at 11:15 p.m.

Gates open at noon Sunday, with kickoff at 3 p.m.

At 40, Blanco will captain the Dorados as an attacking midfielder. Known for his charisma on and off the field, Blanco has played in three World Cups (1998, 2002, 2010), and with Mexico's Club America (1992-2007) and Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire (2007-09).

While Blanco may be the biggest draw, fans also will be able to see a historically rich Monarcas team that dates to the 1920s. The Monarcas' lone Mexican pro league title came in the winter of 2000.

Dorados, meanwhile, is in its 10th year. The team was the youngest franchise to enter Mexico's first division until being relegated in 2006.

The exhibition comes during a break in play for the Mexican leagues because of 2014 World Cup qualifying.

The Monarcas play in Mexico's first division, Liga MX, the Dorados play in the second, Liga de Ascenso MX.

Tickets can be purchased at Chukchansi Park, or Don Roberto's Jewelers and Serrano's Furniture stores throughout much of Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced and Tulare counties.

Prices range from $11 to special VIP seating at $130.
