BASEBALL
-- Junior reliever McCarthy Tatum struck out the final batter with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning to save No. 6 Clovis' 4-3 Tri-River Athletic Conference upset of top-ranked Clovis North.
-- A.J. Ferdinandi led off the bottom of the first with a homer to back Cameron Garver's three-hitter as Memorial topped Bullard 4-0 in the County/Metro Athletic Conference.
-- Aaron Vallez's walk-off squeeze highlighted a two-run seventh, lifting Madera South to a 4-3 win over Edison, which is expected to contend for the CMAC title.
-- Logan Handzlik pitched a two-hitter as Hoover defeated Sunnyside 4-1 in the North Yosemite League on a day the Patriots' field was named in honor of two of the program's former coaches, Jack Hannah and Hal Froese.
-- Ryan Potter pitched a no-hitter and hit an RBI double, and Adrian Flores snapped a 1-1 tie with a two-run double as Kerman won 4-1 at home against Yosemite in the North Sequoia League.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Clovis West roared into next week's Las Vegas Invitational with a 9-0 record as Steve Callisch delivered 14 kills and 10 digs, Trent Braswell 13 kills and five blocks, and Mitchell Kimura 27 assists in a 3-0 nonleague blanking of Bullard.
