Eric Stults allowed two runs on four hits over six innings and drove in two runs, as the San Diego Padres defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-2, in spring training action.

Yonder Alonso hit a solo homer while Cody Ransom, Will Venable and Jeudy Valdez each drove in a run for the Padres.

Gerardo Parra hit an RBI triple for the Diamondbacks, who were 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Willie Bloomquist drove in the other run.

J.J. Putz got the start for Arizona, but lasted just one inning, giving up one run. Reliever Andrew Barbosa struggled, giving up four runs in two innings of work.
