Police recovered a luxury sports car and another stolen vehicle and arrested four people after a burglary Monday in southeast Fresno.

Sgt. Tim Tietjen of the department's auto theft detail said officers are checking to see if the four are connected to other crimes.

The incident began when neighbors in the 2300 block of South Waldby Avenue called police shortly before noon to report a break-in at a home.

The suspects -- two adults and two juveniles -- arrived in a car. Two of them then left in a BMW Z4 while the other two departed in the original vehicle.

Police caught up with the two vehicles a short time later near Jensen Avenue. The BMW then sped toward an industrial area at Golden State and Maple Avenue, where the two male juveniles ditched the car by crashing it against a curb and running down a canal.

They were captured after a search by police dogs and a helicopter.

The other two suspects were arrested after they were pulled over at Church and Elm avenues in southwest Fresno.
