A man sustained non life-threatening injuries from a gang-related drive-by shooting while walking in southwest Fresno on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Lt. Mike Doyle said the victim told police he was walking in the area of Woodward and Thorne avenues near Edison High School around 1:40 p.m. when he stopped to give a friend some money.

When the friend left, the victim was approached by an older blue, four-door vehicle and a black male with dreads fired at him several times from the car.

The victim was hit in the left leg and was treated at Community Regional Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, Doyle said.
