  I was watching the national news and it reported that if the budget is not approved or if they do not come to a consensus on the budget, that many federal employees will have to be furloughed. Employees from agencies such as the military, FBI and other offices of equal importance would be impacted.

  If this were to take place, perhaps we should make Congress and its staff, who are responsible for holding up this budget, take furlough days as well. Perhaps three days a week, since it seems that they don't get anything done anyway.

  That would save quite a bit of money -- no per diem, no free lunch. They don't seem to have a sense of urgency to solve the budget crisis. Maybe with this direct monetary impact, they would be more eager to come to an agreement.
