The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car accident early Sunday morning involving three vehicles that collided south of Porterville.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 65 near Avenue 56 in the Ducor area, said CHP officer Kirk Arnold.

The highway was closed for several hours for cleanup and to allow officers to conduct an investigation, Arnold said. Caltrans was called to provide officers with traffic control.

The road is open. No other details were immediately available.
