Fresno State diver Hannah Prigge earned a spot at the NCAA meet, finishing fifth in platform with a combined score of 582.15 at the Zone E Regionals.

Prigge joins Bulldogs swimmer Dani Yoho at the meet starting Wednesday in Indianapolis.

Sunbirds women upset national tennis power

Petra Jurova defeated NCAA Division II No. 23-ranked Christie Lau 7-6, 6-3 in the top singles match to close out Fresno Pacific's 5-4 upset of D-II No. 14 Cal State Los Angeles.

Marie Boura and Katarena Paliivets also won in singles for the No. 28 Sunbirds (12-5).

-- Fresno State rallied to beat Cal Poly 4-3, with Bianca Modoc's 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles clinching a fourth straight victory for the No. 61 Bulldogs, 8-4 on the season including 3-0 at home.

Fresno Pacific loses hoops consolation game

Fresno Pacific's run at the National Christian College Athletic Association championships, short-circuited by a semifinal loss Thursday, ended with a 91-82 loss to Cedarville (Ohio) in a consolation game in Winona Lake, Ind.

John Taylor's 37 points led the Sunbirds (21-9), capping a year that saw him set the single-season points (825), average (27.5), field goals (263) and free throws made (216) records.

Sunbirds senior Antonio Credit (nine points, 13 rebounds) set the career mark in field-goal percentage (67.7), topping Don Moore's 60.2 from 1991-96.

Baseball: Fresno Pacific splits with Cal Baptist

Wilson Ashford handed Cal Baptist its first Pacific West Conference loss as Fresno Pacific split a doubleheader in Riverside.

Ashford allowed one run on five hits while striking out six in the Sunbirds' 7-1 win in the first game. Baron Bower reached on a third-strike wild pitch with two outs in the fifth to extend an inning that saw Fresno Pacific (12-9, 7-5) get three unearned runs.

Zach Esquerra's solo homer in the fifth gave Cal Baptist (14-8, 7-1) the lead for good as the Lancers won 5-3 in game 2. Bower went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Track and field: 'Dogs pick up SLO meet wins

Fresno State flexed its muscles in the throwing events with Meagan McKee and Brice Sandri at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo.

McKee won the women's hammer (172-7.25) and was second in the shot put (49-9).

Sandri won the men's discus (165-3.25) and was fourth in the hammer (130-2).

The women also received wins from Anamanu Folau in the discus (150-11.25) and Breeauna Thompson in the 100 (12.05 seconds) and from its 400 (46.52) and 1,600 (3:47.46) relay teams.

Fresno State's men saw Darian Hutson win the high jump in a personal-best 6-7.75. Cameron Parker won the 100 in 10.48.
