The Fresno City College women's basketball team led for 2 minutes in the first half Saturday and that was it.

Mt. San Antonio showed why it's the defending state champ.

The Mounties went on a 10-0 run en route to a 69-57 victory in a state semifinal in Sacramento.

The Rams couldn't find their long-distance touch, finishing 6 for 28 on 3-pointers and 23 of 75 overall.

"Just couldn't get a rhythm going," coach Brian Tessler said. "We picked the wrong time to go cold. But some of the credit needs to go to Mt. San Antonio."

The Mounties, who will play for the title today, led by as many as 13 points in the second half. Mt. SAC (33-0) outrebounded the Rams 51-38.

Fresno City (30-4) got within 51-48 on a layup by Madison Parrish in the second half, but went scoreless for the next 5 minutes.

Parrish, headed to the University of Pacific next season, finished with a team-high 14 points.

Ashley Birchfield led the Mounties with 17 points.
