Child hurt in hit-and-run in Selma

A child younger than 10 was taken to a hospital after a hit-and-run in Selma on Saturday evening, the Selma Police Department said.

Police received a call about 7:20 p.m. regarding the crash near Olive and Peach streets.

Authorities did not release the condition of the child, who some reports said was 6 while others said 9.

No other information was immediately available.
