Josh Horton's single in the bottom of the ninth brought home the tying run, but Ryan Lipkin hit into a game ending double-play and the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels ended in a 13-13 tie.

Kaleb Cowart had a bases clearing double and the Angels got two RBI apiece from Alberto Callaspo, Alex Yarbrough and Luis Jimenez.

Eddie McKiernan blew the save when he surrendered three runs in the ninth and Los Angeles starter Jered Weaver struggled in the start, lasting only two innings and giving up eight runs on six hits.

Oakland's pitching staff gave up 18 hits as a unit, with starter Travis Blackley being tagged for three runs on five hits. Josh Reddick hit a three- run homer for the Athletics and Yoenis Cespedes added a two-run shot.
