Getting animated: The Disney Channel has ordered "Star and the Forces of Evil," an animated comedy adventure about a fun-loving magical teen princess from another dimension who -- after a few bold skirmishes with other-worldly monsters -- is sent by her Royal Parents to live with the Diaz family on Earth. Eden Sher (ABC's "The Middle") provides the voice of the lead character, Star Butterfly.

Production has begun for a scheduled fall 2014 premiere.

Honored: The Alliance for Housing and Healing, the non-profit organization that provides housing and food to those who are destitute and suffering with AIDS in Los Angeles, will honor Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman with the "Celebrity Trailblazer Award" at the 2013 A Faire of the Heart gala on April 9.

Proceeds from the event will support the charitable programs of Alliance for Housing and Healing.

Viewing possibilities: "Sid the Science Kid: The Movie" will make its broadcast premiere on PBS Kids on March 25. Fans of the award-winning series will be able to get the movie on DVD and iTunes on April 2.

The feature length program, the first-ever for the series, continues the show's mission of engaging preschoolers' natural curiosity in the world around them.

All for one: Filming has started for the new BBC America drama series, "The Musketeers." It will debut in 2014.

Luke Pasqualino ("The Borgias") will star as D'Artagnan alongside Musketeers Tom Burke ("Great Expectations") as Athos, Santiago Cabrera ("Heroes") as Aramis and newcomer Howard Charles as Porthos. Together they are a crack-team of highly trained soldiers.
