Three people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday near Strathmore, the California Highway Patrol said Thursday.

Joey Guereca, 25 of Strathmore was driving a vehicle south on Highway 65 about 10:15 a.m. when he turned east on Avenue 200 into the path of another vehicle, the CHP said. The driver of the other vehicle -- Jackie Freeman, 34, of Exeter -- traveling north on Highway 65 was unable to avoid the collision, the CHP said.

Guereca, Freeman and Paul Rice, 43, of Exeter, a passenger in Freeman's vehicle, all complained of pain, the CHP said. Freeman and Rice were taken to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said.

The collision is under investigation.
