A 27-year-old Hanford man has been sentenced to 127 years to life in prison for his role in shooting at three people in a car.

The incident happened Aug. 18, 2011. Robert Ellis and two others shot at a car that had three people inside, hitting two of them, the Kings County District Attorney's Office said.

Last year, a jury convicted Ellis of three counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle and three counts of assault with a firearm. He got extra time for using a gun, causing great bodily injury and an earlier conviction for a serious felony, or "strike."
