The San Diego Chargers re-signed kicker Nick Novak to a four-year deal on Tuesday.

Novak re-joined the Chargers in Week 4 of last season after an injury to Nate Kaeding and converted 18-of-20 attempts with a long of 51 yards. In 2011, he kicked in 15 games for San Diego after Kaeding was injured in Week 1 and made 27-of-34 field goal tries with a long of 53 yards.

In 50 career games with the Redskins, Cardinals, Chiefs and Chargers, Novak has converted 64-of-84 field goal attempts.

In addition, the Chargers released defensive tackle Antonio Garay, a 13-game starter for the club in 2011 who recorded just 16 tackles and one sack in eight contests last season.
