A Chowchilla woman wanted in an escape from a Nebraska prison was taken into custody Monday night in the Madera area.

Connie Torres, also known as Connie Marquez, was arrested after a traffic stop near Sonora and Adell streets.

Torres, who was serving a two-to-four year term for narcotics and child abuse, was in possession of methamphetamines, sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.
