Yonder Alonso hit a two-run homer and had three RBI as the San Diego Padres blanked the Oakland Athletics, 10-0, on Monday in spring training play.

Jonathan Galvez and Travis Buck both went 2-for-3 with a solo home runs and Gregorio Petit, Maxx Tissenbaum, Nick Hundley and Kyle Blanks contributed an RBI apiece for the Padres.

San Diego starter Tyson Ross earned the win by allowing just two hits over three scoreless innings. He struck out three and the Athletics managed just two more hits the rest of the way against five Padres relievers.

Jarrod Parker was rocked in the start for Oakland and was tagged for five runs on six hits over four innings.

Seth Smith, Chris Young, Josh Reddick and Shane Peterson each had a single in the defeat.
