Upcoming junior tournaments: Ross Junior Am seeks volunteers, registration deadline nears
The 66th annual Len Ross/Fresno City Junior Amateur is March 25-28 at Riverside GC, Airways GC, Fig Garden GC, RiverPark GC, Belmont CC. Adult or high school-age volunteers are needed to work as walking scorers for players in the 11-and-younger flight (nine holes daily at River Park GC). Exeter GC
Hole-in-one: Rick Nieves of Exeter made his second ace just two weeks after his first, once again on No. 8, during the 1 p.m. scramble March 2. He won the closest to the hole, as well as the hole-in-one pot that had been growing since June. He bought drinks for all 70 players to celebrate.
Upcoming: March 30, four-man best ball fundraiser for Visalia Youth Wrestling, 8 a.m., $30 per player, includes 18 holes and barbecue lunch and raffle prizes, Kerry Collins (559) 736-5350. ...
