Solar tubes sparked a small fire on the roof of a new building at Fresno High School in central Fresno on Sunday, fire officials said.
Highly reflective solar tubes were left on the roof of the two-story building that is under construction, concentrating sunlight that ignited the roofing material, fire spokesman Larry French said. The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported as no one was at the campus' construction site, French said. Damages to the structure were minimal and kept to an area less than nine square feet, he said.
