Matt Cain threw three solid innings and the San Francisco Giants took advantage of sloppy defense by the Milwaukee Brewers to earn a 6-1 victory in a Cactus League clash.

Cole Gillespie went 2-for-4 with an RBI single to pace the Giants offensively, with Brett Pill and Nick Noonan also knocking in runs and Wilson Valdez finishing 2-for-4 while scoring once in the win.

Cain allowed just one run while striking out four batters and scattering four hits, with Jake Dunning following the San Francisco starter with a pair of scoreless frames.

Four of the Giants' six runs were unearned as a result of four errors by the Brewers, with another score coming on a wild pitch by Milwaukee's Jed Bradley.

Carlos Gomez collected two of Milwaukee's seven hits on the afternoon. Chris Narveson took the loss for the Brewers after permitting two runs over the first three innings.
