Clovis residents don't have to drive to River Park anymore to shop at HomeGoods, Ulta Beauty and other chains.
Those two stores, along with Petco, are the first to open in the new Clovis Crossing Regional Shopping Center at Herndon and Clovis avenues. They will be followed by many more.
Home decor store HomeGoods was jam-packed last Sunday, its first official day open. Customers flocked to the store's decor items, furniture and rugs even during the work day last week.
Ulta, which sells every kind of makeup and beauty supply imaginable, opened early before its official Friday opening date, with at least one shopper getting a haircut in the store's salon last week. Both stores are nearly identical to other Valley locations.
The remaining stores in the shopping center will open throughout March, including women's clothing store Maurices, which is scheduled to open March 20.
This is the first Maurices to open in the Fresno/Clovis area, although Tulare and Kings counties have several locations. It's owned by the same company as DressBarn. The store sells casual clothing such as jeans, dresses and accessories, sizes 1 to 24.
Anna's Linens opened Thursday. At 10,000 square feet, it will be the biggest Anna's in Fresno County.
Also soon to open are the Walmart Supercenter, the Habit Burger Grill, DressBarn, Famous Footwear, Sleep Train, the Vitamin Shoppe, Great Clips, Old Navy, Yum Yum Yogurt, T-Mobile and a Subway.
-- Tsu Tsu Boutique in the Tower District will celebrate its first anniversary 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The store, at 727 E. Olive Ave., will have a DJ, snacks and giveaways and door prizes for customers. The store sells brand-name and designer women's clothing by consignment.
