Sports briefs: Reedley rallies against No. 16 Merced

Jordan Caglia's two-run single in the eighth capped a second straight three-run inning for Reedley College, as the Tigers beat Northern California No. 16-ranked Merced 10-6 in a Central Valley Conference baseball game.

Caglia went 4 for 5 and David Mora 4 for 4 with three RBIs for Reedley (5-10, 2-4), which trailed 5-2 after the Blue Devils' four-run top of the fifth. Mike Hostetler also had four hits for the Tigers.

Sean Borboa (2-0) pitched three-hit, scoreless ball over the final three innings.

-- Sixth-ranked Fresno City's game at Porterville was postponed until 2 p.m. today. The Rams are 11-6 and 6-2 and Porterville 6-9 and 2-6.

-- No. 10 Sequoias (9-8, 5-3) pushed its home game with West Hills (7-7, 4-1) to 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Fresno RFC falls against Diablo

Tui Tuifua scored a pair of tries, but the Fresno Rugby Football Club lost 50-27 at Diablo Gaels in Orinda, to fall to 3-3 in NorCal Division II.

Diablo improved to 4-2.

Fresno did win the B-side match, 35-12, and next hosts Berkeley at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holman Park.
