Brandon Snyder went 2-for-3 with a game-tying solo home run in the seventh inning and Jorge Alfaro drove in another run in the inning on a single, to help the Texas Rangers past the Oakland Athletics, 4-3, on Saturday.

The Rangers plated two runs in the second inning and totaled nine hits in the victory.

Starter Nick Tepesch last three innings and gave up three hits and one run, while striking out three batters. Collin Balester picked up the win in relief and Lisalverto Bonilla earned the save.

Shane Peterson paced Oakland with two RBI on a 2-for-2 hitting effort, while Jed Lowrie also plated one run in defeat.

Ryan Cook picked up the loss and allowed both runs in the seventh. He lasted 2/3 of an inning, walked two and allowed three hits.
