A man sought since September in connection with a Fresno homicide was taken into custody in central Fresno, police said.

Jordan Rios, 19, was surrounded by officers Thursday morning on Dakota Avenue near Einstein Park and arrested after being bitten by a police dog, police Lt. Mark Salazar said. Rios was treated at a hospital and booked on murder charges.

Esteven Hernandez, 20, died from a gunshot wound Sept. 1 on Blackstone Avenue just south of Manchester Center. A second person was found wounded by gunfire.

Officers learned the shootings happened after a fight between Bulldog gang members. Rios was identified as the gunman.
