LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A woman is facing identity theft charges after a waitress was handed her stolen driver's license for identification by a customer at a Lakewood restaurant.

Brianna Priddy said her wallet was stolen on Feb. 13 during a night out with friends.

According to KUSA-TV, someone used Priddy's identity to write hundreds of dollars in bad checks.

On Feb. 25, a customer came in to an Applebee's restaurant in Lakewood where Priddy works as a server.

"Four people come in, walk in, sit down. They start ordering drinks. This girl hands me my ID as a fake ID," Priddy told the TV station.

"But I didn't say anything. I handed it back to her and said sure I'll be right back with your margarita. [I] went straight to the phone, called the cops," Priddy said.

Priddy said she put on her server smile and acted like nothing was wrong, "but I was shaking like crazy."

Police soon arrived and arrested the woman.

Police are not releasing the suspect's name because the case is still under investigation. The kicker, police spokesman Steve Davis told the TV station, is that the suspect is 26 -- old enough to buy a drink on her own ID.
