Kerman business gets funds for training

Valley Food Center in Kerman is receiving $7,700 from the state's Employment Training Panel to provide training for its 35 workers.

Valley Food Center has been in Kerman for more than 45 years, according to Assembly Member Henry T. Perea, who announced the grant Tuesday.

The Employment Training Panel is an economic development program formed to offer employee-training assistance to companies that are threatened by out-of-state competition.
