Three people suspected of stealing an Apple iPad at the Clovis Costco -- and then using the tablet to snap self-portraits -- turned themselves in after seeing their photos on a TV news report, police said.
The photos, which Clovis police gave to the media, were seen by the suspects on the KMPH (Channel 26.1) 10 p.m. news Monday, police said.
The suspects allegedly stole the iPad from a shopping cart while the victim was in the Costco near Ashlan and Peach avenues on Feb. 18, police said. The photos were automatically uploaded via Wi-Fi to the victim's iCloud account.
The iPad will be returned to the victim, who lives in the Los Angeles area, police said.
