Former Fresno State standout Bhavik Patel -- in his third career professional event -- shot a par 71 on Sunday to finish sixth at 10-under 274, eight shots behind winner Patrick Cantlay (66) at the web.com Tour's Colombia Championship in Bogota.

It was Patel’s first payday — he missed the cut in his only tournament in 2012 and first event of 2013 — and earned $25,200 in the web.com Tour (formerly Nationwide Tour) event at the 7,237-yard Country Club de Bogota.

The Bakersfield native interviewed with web.com Tour media Saturday after his third round, which saw him stay near the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round.
