Justim Smoak added two hits and an RBI for the Mariners, while starter Jon Garland worked one scoreless inning for the win.

Matt Cain was tagged in the loss for four hits and three runs in his three- inning outing for the Giants.

Brandon Belt collected two hits, including a solo homer, and scored twice in defeat.
