Seth Smith stroked a two-run home run and scored twice to help the Oakland Athletics earn an 11-6 triumph over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday in spring training action.

Jemile Weeks led off the bottom of the first with a homer and finished with two RBI and two runs scored, while Jed Lowrie also knocked in a pair of runs for the A's, who finished with 14 hits.

Oakland starter Dan Straily earned the victory despite giving up two runs on two hits and a walk over 1 1/3 frames.

Cody Ransom clubbed a two-run blast and Travis Buck added a pair of RBI and a run scored for the Padres, who saw starter Eric Stults surrender four runs on four hits and two walks in the first inning to absorb the loss.
