Applications are being accepted through Thursday for the Bright Minds Scholarship sponsored by Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the company said.

Scholarships are awarded based on community leadership, personal triumph, financial need and academic achievement to students who will be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Last year, two Fresno-area students received full-ride scholarships worth up to $30,000 a year for up to five years; several others received $2,500 grants.

For more information and to apply, visit www.pge.com/brightminds. Scholarship winners will be announced in the spring.
