Alessandro Del Piero has signed on to remain at Australian club Sydney FC for a second season, it was announced Thursday.

"I'm very happy about this news," the 38-year-old said at a press conference. "For sure it's a great moment for me, for Sydney FC.

"In my age, I want to be very honest. We have to see year by year."

Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed, though the salary has been reported to be worth $2 million.

Del Piero has netted 11 goals in 18 matches with the Australian club, a record for any Sydney FC player.
