Girl Scouts of Central California South has elected a new board of directors. These individuals will serve for the 2013-14 year and work to help instill courage, character and confidence in more than 10,000 girls. They are: Jayne McCallister, chair; Maria Escobedo, 1st vice-president; Dr. Rebecca Malmo, 2nd vice-president; Keith Pretzer, treasurer; Susan Woods, secretary; and members at large Kari Boisvert, Nancy Chaffin, Robert Frausto, Eloise Golden, Jennie Guadagno, S. Renee Haga, Robirda Lyon, Debbie Rodriquez, Joy Tolladay, Faith Witte, and Carrie Zerafa.
David R. McNamara and Timothy R. Sullivan, McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth LLP, have been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an exclusive and prestigious national organization of judges and civil trial lawyers.
Awards
Josephine Prakash, a local 7-Eleven business operator in Fresno, has been awarded the Servant Leader award. This is the highest award that can be achieved in the convenience store business and she was chosen for the honor out of more than 8,000 7-Eleven stores in the U.S. and Canada.
New Faces
Tom Conway has joined Easter Seals Central California as its new chief executive officer. He most recently served as the associate executive director of health policy and practice services for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Courtney Sorensen is the new operations manager for the Fresno County Farm Bureau. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in mass communication and journalism from Fresno State and comes to FCFB with experience as an administrative assistant and human resources coordinator.
