North Dakota State athletic officials announced Friday that the Bison's home football game with Western Carolina originally scheduled for Sept. 21 has been moved to Sept. 1, 2016, by mutual agreement between the two schools.

North Dakota State, which has won the last two FCS national titles, is in the process of finalizing its 2013 schedule.

The Bison, from the Missouri Valley Football Conference, will open their season at Kansas State on Aug. 31.

Western Carolina is a member of the Southern Conference.
