Vernon now has 1,806 points in four varsity seasons, surpassing the 1,793 that Myron Epps scored from 1996-98. Epps is now the coach at rival and No. 4 Mission Oak, which leads Tulare by a game with three to play after getting 28 points from Blake Shannon in a 73-47 win over Monache. The Redskins and Hawks meet Feb. 13.

Mario Ramirez, Jesus Perez and Jose Lopez all scored as Avenal clinched the outright West Sierra League title with a 4-0 win over Dos Palos. The Buccaneers have outscored opponents 39-0 since Christmas break.
