Keonta Vernon scored 17 points to become Tulare's career scoring leader, and Oscar Reyes put in a career-high 25 as The Bee's Central Section No. 7-ranked Tulare beat Delano 79-49 in the East Yosemite League. Vernon now has 1,806 points in four varsity seasons, surpassing the 1,793 that Myron Epps scored from 1996-98. Epps is now the coach at rival and No. 4 Mission Oak, which leads Tulare by a game with three to play after getting 28 points from Blake Shannon in a 73-47 win over Monache. The Redskins and Hawks meet Feb. 13.
Issac Sears had 22 points and Shakor Major recorded his 10th straight double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead D-IV No. 2-ranked Washington to a 55-52 win over Chowchilla. Sierra kept pace with the Panthers atop the North Sequoia League, getting 16 points from Casey Blunt in a 58-54 win over Kerman.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Emily Anderson's 33 points powered Tri-River Athletic Conference-leading and No. 3-ranked Clovis West past Central 80-44.
County/Metro Athletic Conference-leading and No. 5 Edison rode 23 points from Brittany Sims to a 77-11 win over Madera South. Bullard is one back after a 70-23 win over Memorial behind 25 points from Aarion McDonald. Edison and Bullard meet again Feb. 14.
Sunnyside handed Hoover its first North Yosemite League loss 39-37 despite Michele Brown's 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Kim Alfors scored 16 as Selma beat Immanuel 50-37 in a Central Sequoia League duel of The Bees No. 1 D-III and D-V teams. Julia Burge's free throw with 6.3 seconds left got Kingsburg by Dinuba 44-43.

Justine Fuentes knocked in a rebound of a Mariah Montoya shot with 13 minutes remaining, and Montoya added her 25th and 26th goals of the season in the final 5 minutes as top-ranked Central beat No. 6 Clovis North 3-0. No. 3 Buchanan remained deadlocked with the Grizzlies atop the TRAC at 8-1 with one game to play as Maddy Monreal's goal was the difference in a 1-0 win over No. 9 Clovis.
Reedley clinched at least a share of the North Yosemite League title with a 3-0 win over Roosevelt behind two goals from Melissa Fuentes. McLane is a game back with one to play after getting two goals from Adriana Brambila in a 2-0 win over Sunnyside.
Division IV top-ranked Caruthers -- the section's only undefeated team at 24-0 -- got two goals from Racine Babb in a 3-0 West Sequoia League win over Riverdale.
Leyda Villalobos' goal 2 minutes in helped Mendota top Firebaugh 2-0 for the Aztecs' second West Sierra League title in three seasons.
BOYS SOCCER
Mario Ramirez, Jesus Perez and Jose Lopez all scored as Avenal clinched the outright West Sierra League title with a 4-0 win over Dos Palos. The Buccaneers have outscored opponents 39-0 since Christmas break.
